Jon shows how to make a caipirinha

It’s no surprise that Farmers & Fishers’ Chief Mixologist Jon Arroyo gets invited to all kinds of different mixology / cocktail / spirited events, so it was great fun to see him as a featured speaker at “Happy Birthday Mr. Daiquiri” event hosted by the Museum of the American Cocktail.

On November 19, Jon joined fellow mixologists and daiquiri experts Jeff “Beachbum” Berry, Derek Brown of The Gibson, and Phil Greene to present the classic and classically inspired versions of the daquiri and the modern variations of it.

A packed (!)  room at the Occidental on a cool, rainy night was enlightened (and imbibed!) with the stories behind the drinks and the recipes that each of the presenters shared.    As the Cabana Cachaca brand ambassador for the region, Jon shared his daiquiri version of the Caipirinha, a light and tasty, minty concoction easily made at home.

Pegu Blog Visits Farmers & Fishers

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

We at Farmers & Fishers always enjoy sitting down with our friends in the cocktail world and showing them our Tiki Bar. Doug Winship from Pegu Blog spent some time with Jon Arroyo on a recent visit to town, and he published a great review of all things cocktail (plus the requisite photograph of our Chocolate Dipped Bacon Lollis). Check him out at the Pegu Blog.
